How good is the trail?

The route is updated each year to keep it fresh for returning ghouls! Here are some reviews from those who dared to take on the Halloween trick or treat trail…

Hi! I just wanted to tell you that we did your Halloween trail today and it was amazing! I’ve done
Halloween activities throughout central London with the kids every day this week and yours was by far the best. Everything was stellar- the layout of the map and boxes, the spooky trivia, the trail and, of course, the treats. I learned so much about the area- who knew there was a police museum there?? I’ve never actually walked through the area before. I’ve always just gone to the market and left. It was a real treat to be able to wander the streets and alleys and take in the scene with three kids occupied and laughing and looking for the next thing. I’m sure that took a lot of time to put together and I really appreciate it. I know a ton of other people did too by the amount of families I saw wandering around in costume. I even saw some people had laminated each page of the trail! Thanks!
– Lori

It was amazing thank you! It was our 3rd year coming and still you manage to change the trail so we adults can have fun learning something new too Thank you! – Romi

Frequently asked questions

How long does the trail take?

The trail takes approximately 1 hour to complete. It depends how long you stay at each stop, and if you take part in any activities.

Is the trail step free?

The trail is predominantly step free. Some stores may have a step on entry. There are no accessible toilets enroute. However, the Royal Opera House has accessible toilets – please ask permission to use them.

Are there toilets along the way?

I have noted where there is a toilet along the route. You must pay to enter. There are no accessible toilets enroute. However, the Royal Opera House has accessible toilets – please ask permission to use them.

What if the treats run out?

Each contributor will be providing 1 x free treat to children taking part in the trail. Unfortunately they cannot give out treats for you to take home to other children – priority is for those who are in attendance on the day. We also recommend adults take some back up treats, just in case a store has run out, they can give their child a treat.

Whilst the treats are a great add-on throughout the trail, the trail itself is a great family activity, so you will enjoy yourselves regardless.

How is the trail free?

The trail is now in its 6th year. Covent Garden Mum writes and produces the trail in her own time and covers the costs to create the trail. The contributors take part in the trail for free, and kindly offer the children free treats.

If you would like to chip in to help cover the basic costs of producing these free family events, please do so HERE.
