Films for the Family at The Garden Cinema
Join us for three classic family Christmas films, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone and The Muppet Christmas Carol.
In The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack Skellington, the spindly king of Halloween Town, kidnaps Santa Claus and plans to deliver shrunken heads and other ghoulish gifts to children on Christmas morning. But as Christmas approaches, Jack’s rag-doll girlfriend, Sally, tries to foil his misguided plans. Showing Saturday 3rd December and Sunday 4th December.
In Home Alone, eight-year-old Kevin McCallister makes the most of the situation after his family unwittingly leaves him behind when they go on Christmas vacation. But when a pair of bungling burglars set their sights on Kevin’s house, the plucky kid stands ready to defend his territory. Showing Saturday 10th December and Sunday 11th December.
In The Muppet Christmas Carol Michael Caine plays the old miser Scrooge with Kermit as his long-suffering but ever-hopeful employee Bob Cratchit. Miss Piggy plays Cratchit’s wife, and a host of Muppets (including the Great Gonzo as an unlikely Charles Dickens) take other primary roles in this bright, playful adaptation of the sombre tale. Showing Saturday 17th December and Sunday 18th December.
